Lyla is 1 month old

Hello!

Well our lives have completely changed! Lyla was born on April 11 at 12:52pm. She weighed 6lbs12oz and was the most beautiful creature we had ever seen! She has been such a joy and great baby! We have been adjusting to not getting any sleep and having our lives controlled by this little bundle of joy! We so appreciate all of the gifts and food from you all! The support we have had from our friends, family and neighbors has been amazing! THANK YOU!

I was induced at 8am and feel very lucky to have had such a short labor. It's crazy to think I was induced after 2 months of bed rest! It was all in God's plan, and we are so thankful for our healthy baby girl!!!

Mom and Dad are watching her at the moment and Dad changed his first diaper!!! Mom said she doesn't think he even changed mine!!! lol!  Life is fabulous! I will update when I can!

38 weeks

Hello! So sorry I haven't updated you all... I have been busy trying to get Lyla to come out! haha! We have been back to normal activities and still no baby!

Every time we leave the house, we say... "if my water breaks now, we will..."
It's so funny anticipating each day! The car is packed and ready to go! Lyla has definitely grown and my belly is pretty tight these days!

We go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon! This will be our 39 week appointment! It seems crazy to be that far along! I will post any updates we have!

I was completely thinned and dilated between 1 and 2 last week, so we are hoping things are progressing!

I know everyone is anxious!!! We are too!!! We appreciate everyone's support and look forward to meeting little Lyla very soon!

37 Weeks

Hello!

Tuesday's appointment went so well!

Lyla weighed 5lbs9oz! She went from smiling to crying during the ultrasound! It was so sweet to watch her! Everything is great!

The nursery is finally finished! The last details were added last night! We are so excited and ready to meet her!  Will keep you all posted!

36 Weeks Now!!

Hey! We made it! I am off bed rest and able to get out and about! This has been a great couple of days! We worked to finish the nursery yesterday and today. We finally have everything the way we want it... and even more excited for Lyla's arrival!

Our appointment went great! We were all relieved to make it to 36 weeks of course! We have another ultrasound on Tuesday with our next appointment. I am starting to swell in my face, hands and feet so that's no fun, but everything's normal.  Good news is if she were to come tomorrow, everything would be okay! We are now in the clear! Yay!

35 Week Appointment

Hello!

We had our 35 week appointment and ultrasound yesterday! Everything looks great! She now weighs 4lbs 14 oz... almost to 5! Yay! Cortland guessed her weight exactly before going! Her head is still very low and pushing! She is in the perfect position for delivery.

I am allowed to be a little more active each week! We are so excited to go to dinner and a movie! I can't make any Target runs just yet but definitely able to move around the house more! I can also listen to my body when I need to rest, because it definitely tells me!  I am pretty tired these days so sleeping a good bit! The time is going by pretty quickly and things are great! We are feeling more prepared and relieved each day!

I am also starting to get anxious about "the" moment! I am not sure if you can ever be completely prepared for labor and delivery! So excited to meet our little baby girl :)

Our next appointment is Tuesday, March 15! Will keep you all posted!

We made it to 34 WEEKS!

Hello! We are just getting home from our 34 week appointment, and things are definitely looking good! Everything we have been doing is working!

We will have an ultrasound on Tuesday! If her weight is good, I will be able to go out to dinner and maybe a movie next week to celebrate 35 weeks! This is great news! To think I have been on bed rest almost 6 weeks is crazy but all worth it now! The relief feels so good! We were so excited to hear that from the doctor!

My belly is measuring on track, and her heartbeat was 146 today. She is still moving around all the time so that's a good sign! :)

The pressure along with contractions are getting worse and sleepless nights are here! I am pretty used to this by now and just glad she has cooperated to this point.

We are filled with joy and looking forward to seeing Lyla's face soon!

33 Week Appointment

Hello! We had our 33 week appointment yesterday! It feels good to get this far after being so scared about her coming too early. Each week that passes is so exciting for an even healthier baby!

The doctor said everything seems the same. Her head is somewhat lower, so I am experiencing a good amount of pressure. We are definitely doing well and feeling very positive about keeping her in there at least 3 more weeks!

We just finished our maternity photos. The lady came to the house, so were able to get some nice causal shots around here. We should have the link in about a week, so I will make sure and include it.

We will have another ultra-sound next week or the week after to see how big she. The next appointment is Thursday, March 3. As always, thanks for your thoughts and prayers! We are so blessed!!!

32 Weeks!

Hey guys! Our 32 week appointment went great today! I am actually feeling better... less pressure and the contractions aren't as bad now that I am off my feet! We took a picture with my phone after the appointment, so I wanted to share! We are both growing! My belly is measuring right on track.

My fabulous hair stylist came over yesterday to do my hair so I really am feeling much better! :) The goal is 4 more weeks of staying in the bed... I will be able to get out and about a little at 36 weeks. It's really not that bad and of course, it will all be worth it when we are holding our healthy, happy baby girl!!!

As always, your thoughts, prayers, messages, etc. mean so much to us! We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!

31 Weeks now!

Hello! We had our 31 week appointment yesterday. Everything has stayed the same so that's more good news! I am getting used to being in the bed now and have really been okay! Thanks so much for all of your sweet messages :)

The bassinet is now in our room and it's just gorgeous... thanks to Mom! The crib got delivered today so things are moving along.

We have our next appointment on Tuesday, so I will update you all then! The doctor feels very confident that we can keep Lyla in there for 5 more weeks so that's our goal! They will actually let me off bedrest at that point! It always helps to have goals!

30 weeks today

Hello! We are 30 weeks today! Good news! Our follow up appointments this week went well. Everything's pretty much the same and my body is doing well with the medications. It was a rough few days but all seems to be adjusting now. Of course, I have to continue staying in the bed and off my feet. We appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers!

Update after 30 week appointment!

Our doctor's visit this morning didn't go as well as we hoped! I am okay and Lyla is still growing perfectly! She weighs a good 3lbs now! I am on complete bedrest and have to continue to relieve the pressure by keeping my feet elevated. I was hoping things were better and was also hoping to hear that I could get out and about some but that's not the case. They did give me some medicine to help with the contractions. The goal of course is to keep her in another 6-7 weeks. The doctor assured us that the baby will be great and they are taking all of the precautions to make sure she is as healthy as possible no matter when she decides to come! I got a shot today to help her lungs mature quickly and will get another one tomorrow. We will be going back for follow up appointments tomorrow, Friday and Tuesday. They want to closely monitor everything over the next few weeks to make sure it all stays the same.

We did get some precious photos of her face today! It's so sweet to see what she looks like already! We are so excited and really looking forward to being parents :)

Baby Shower January 20!

Not even the snow storm could stop our wonderful friends from this baby shower!
Katie Putnam, Jessica Crawford, Emily Helton and Kristin King threw an amazing baby shower for us on Thursday, January 20 at Kristin and Robbie's house! It was so thoughtful and PINK! :) The food was incredible along with the decorations and strawberry cupcakes!!! Yum Yum Yum! I felt so loved and of course, even more excited to have this baby girl! All of the gifts were perfect and so creative! Thank you all for making this time so special!

Week 29 Appointment

Lyla now weighs just under 3lbs! She is progressing perfectly and moving constantly! She is going to be a very active little girl! We will have another measurement of her on Tuesday! It's fun to see how she is growing!

Baby Finnegan Week 29

Hello! I have decided to start a blog to keep all of our friends and family updated on baby Finnegan! It seems Lyla is ready to meet all of you a little sooner than planned! I am on bed rest for now and have the best nurse ever. Cortland has been amazing at tending to my every need! Very thankful for my wonderful husband.

We will now see our doctor every Tuesday to monitor any changes. This means we get to see Lyla once a week now! We just hope everything stays as it is and no progressing occurs over the next few weeks. I will have time to update this now and keep everyone in the loop!
